Seat belt interlock.

The ‘Ozweigh” Seat belt Interlock renders the forklift unusable unless the seat belt is correctly fastened.

An Interlock module is fitted to your forklift and manages the 3 main sensor switches from the drivers seat, hand brake and seat belt.

A pre-set sequence of events must occur before the forklift truck can be started. It virtually ensures that the driver has correctly fastened the seat belt and not just sitting on it before commencing work. If any of the switches are disconnected or wiring tampered with the forklift is shut down.

As further security the OEM fitted webbing belt is replaced with a ‘Safety Yellow’ belt that is easily recognised if not worn correctly.

The Ozweigh seat belt interlock is fitted in a convenient location on the forklift tuck dashboard along with the following sensors.

  • Driver seat interlock switch.
  • Hand brake interlock switch.
  • Under the hood IC controller.

These items are wired into the forklift truck system and are tamperproof. Other safety sequences are programmed into the module to prevent un-authorised use of your equipment.
